Typically people who have some experience of working life and potentially people in positions of some influence. It is unlikely that this course will be suitable for those just starting their first job. Experienced human resource professionals, trade union officials, supervisors/managers, other professionals and those with an interest in learning about how to deal effectively with conflict and disagreement. Those who want to improve their communication techniques and those who may be looking at mediation as a career will also find the programme worthwhile. A third level qualification may be useful but is not essential as the course is not overly academic in nature.
This course is fully accredited by the Mediators Institute of Ireland (Applicants for MII membership must pass an MII Skills Assessment in addition to completing the training).
An optional extra day will be arranged for those who may be interested in proceeding to Certified membership level.
A range of topics will be covered over the six days including the following:-
