The Mediators’ Institute of Ireland are delighted to announce that Andrea O’Neill has been elected President of the Mediators’ Institute of Ireland.

Andrea succeeds Ber Barry Murray who has completed her three year term. The team wishes Ber well and thank her for her excellent guidance and leadership. She has brought stability and  innovation to MII over the last three years culminating with The Charities Institute of Ireland’s governance and transparency accreditation, Triple Lock, awarded to MII in 2024.

Andrea is an experienced and accredited MII Mediator. She has an MA in mediation and conflict intervention along with specialist training in international cross border child abduction mediation, child inclusive mediation, conflict management coaching, restorative practice and reflective practice.

Andrea brings to the mediation profession a wealth of knowledge, skills, and experience from diverse fields, including industrial relations, accounting, business, education, and conflict resolution.

Andrea is committed to the growth and visibility of mediation and the promotion and advancement of the profession. She has been on the Council since 2021 during which time she led an MII collaboration with the Irish Red Cross as a response to the war in Ukraine. She is keen to develop other collaborative projects between the MII and other organisations.
