Accredited Mediation Training Cork Spring 2025
The RoundTable accredited certified mediation training programme offers you the opportunity to train as a mediator. Over the course of three months, you will gain an understanding of conflict, alternative dispute resolution, mediation legislation and the transformative, facilitative and evaluative models of mediation. You will learn the skills and techniques of mediation, explore your style of mediation and apply your learning in simulated mediation situations, culminating in your preparation to go forward for assessment to become a certified mediator with the Mediators Institute Ireland.

Assessment occurs during the training days on understanding, participation and evidence through role play of acquired skills. In addition, learners will engage in a continuous cycle of self-observation and self-evaluation. Learners are required to complete a Conflict Assignment (2500 words) . This assignment is evaluated by the trainers and is used to assess participants’ integration of skills and knowledge throughout the training.
To become a Certified mediator with the Mediators’ Institute of Ireland, participants must go forward for certification. This certification is a videoed assessment where the participant demonstrates the core mediation skills through role-play of a simulated workplace conflict.

Ber is an advanced mediator with the Mediators Institute of Ireland and the International Mediators Institute, with 20 years’ experience working as mediator, having qualified in 2000. She has mediated complex disputes nationally and internationally, assisting those who are party to the mediation in arriving at a resolution. The breadth of mediations undertaken, includes workplace, family, commercial, education, medical, financial, succession and land disputes.
Ber is currently the President of the Mediators Institute of Ireland, and was previously the family sector representative and on the accreditation committee. In addition to being a Mediator, she holds a master’s degree in education and a law degree. She has trained mediators since 2004 at certified level; for the family sector and has trained and supervised mediators to become practicing mediators.
